Basically one Washington Post journalist decided to harass the ISPs who were providing the upstream internet connection to this hosting company (McColo) into cutting off access. Apparently all the major security places had figured out they were the source for tons of viruses, spam and other nastiness, but no one knew exactly how much, or how easy it would be to cut them off.

After they cut off access -- worldwide... WORLDWIDE spam transmissions dropped by 70%. This guy deserves a Pulitzer.

Extra credit for using the term "virtual den of iniquity" at the end.

So after putting up with low frame rates the past few months (20fps for TF2 and the same for WoW during raids in BC) with my old rig that I built back in 2005, I finally decided that it's time for an upgrade. Did some research today on what was out there (funny how being an IT guy I don't really keep up with the latest technology) and decided that this is probably the setup I'd like to go with. Came out a bit pricey but within my range, I'm going to buy all parts through New Egg and just finance it over a year with no interest. Would appreciate your thoughts or advice on my choices. I always wondered why, as a kid, I remembered the Republicans being Blue and Democrats being Red. But now all you hear is a bunch of rhetoric about Republican states being Red states and in the last 2 elections, they were Red and Democrats were Blue.

If you ask me, it's a lefty media conspiracy. Red is more associated with evil, and therefore used to depict Republicans.
